Calebrate our Mayo Mountains weekend and take on Connaghts highest and one of the iconic 4 peaks Mweelrea at 814m.
This route takes us from the beautiful beach at Silver Strand (the perfect post hike dip spot) up to the saddle with Ben Bury where the amzing views of Mweelrea Horseshoe, Kilary and the Atlantic open up 360 views open up of the Sheefrys, 12 Bens and out to the Atlantic.
This is a challenging hike so good level of fitness and some hiking experience needed.
Distance: 11km. Duration approx 4.5 hours
(Optional post-hike sauna and sea dip can be added)

Hiking boots,
Suitable hiking clothing (no jeans or runners),
Waterproofs,
Warm layers hat and gloves,
Drink, snacks and rucksack/bag,
Walking poles (optional but recommended)
