Mayo Mountains Weekend - 2026

Celebrate Mayo Day in style on Mayo’s mountains!

This year, we’re heading back out to some of Mayo’s finest peaks for a weekend full of incredible views, great craic, and a serious sense of achievement—taking on two of Mayo’s tallest mountains and Ireland’s highest sea cliffs.

Join us for one hike, or make a full weekend of it!

First up:
Croaghaun – 02/05/25
This challenging loop to the highest point on Achill Island starts at the iconic Keem Bay. From there, we’ll make our way to the summit, standing atop Ireland’s highest sea cliffs. Expect some of the best views in the country, along with fascinating sites and local history along the way.
Distance: 9km
Duration: ~5 hours

Next:
Nephin – 03/05/25
Take on the mighty Nephin, Ireland’s highest standalone mountain at 806m. This is a short but steep hike, completing a loop of the North Corrie. Nephin dominates the landscape from all accross North Mayo and West Sligo and a hike to its summit is one you wont forget!
